Day 1 (Monday)
Take a flight from Goa to Delhi, the capital of India, for an overnight stay in Marriott Hotel or similar.
Day 2 (Tuesday)
A tour of Old Delhi, which was one of the capitals of Muslim India between the 12th and 13th centuries. Experience the bustling roads and lanes full of history, interesting monuments, mosques and forts. You will drive past the Red Fort which extends over 2km, visit the colourful Chandni Chowk bazaar and the Mosque of Jama Masjid. Depart for Agra (approx. 5 hours). Overnight stay in Agra at Mughal Sheraton Hotel or similar.
Day 3 (Wednesday)
After breakfast you will pay an early morning visit to the world famous Taj Mahal and visit Agra Fort. Depart for Jaipur, visiting Fatehpur Sikri ('deserted city') en route. Overnight in Jaipur at the Rajputana Sheraton Hotel or similar.
Day 4 (Thursday)
Jaipur, the exuberant capital city of the state of Rajasthan, is popularly known as the Pink City due to the pink sandstone buildings. Rajasthan is known as the desert kingdom and the city is surrounded by desert-like lunar landscapes. The city was founded by the great Warrior-astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II, one of the last great Moghal rulers. The old city is enclosed by a perimeter wall dating back to the original period. You will visit the Amber Fort - a classic romantic Rajasthan fort palace and take an elephant ride through the snaking pathway up to the palace entrance (included in price). Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 5 (Friday)
Jaipur city tour. Depart for Bikaner, a 15th century royal walled city which is situated at the northern most point on the triangle of the desert cities. It is a bustling trade centre and is famous for the best riding camels in the world. The camel corps is still a showpiece of the Indian army.
Take a half day city tour visiting the Lalgarh Palace built with red sandstone.
view the beautiful carvings and the hall of audience with breath taking frescos and visit the Junagarh fort built around 1587 A.D. to protect 37 palaces, temples and pavilions within the fort. Junagarh houses a Museum of valuable miniature paintings and other rare items which are several centuries old. Overnight in Bikaner at the Lixma Niwas Hotel or similar.
Day 6 (Saturday)
Depart Bikaner for Jaislmer by road and arrive in time for lunch. In the evening visit the sand dunes for sun set. A ½ hour camel ride into the desert is optional (at extra cost). Overnight at Jaislmer in the Fort Rajawada Hotel or similar.
Day 7 (Sunday)
In the morning a city tour of Jaislmer. Visit the Fort and walk through the narrow streets to havelis. Overnight at Jaislmer.
Day 8 (Monday)
Depart Jaislmer to Jodhpur, the 'Blue City', by road. Take an evening city tour, visiting the Mehgarh Fort and Jaswant Thada. Overnight at the Ajit Bhawan Hotel or similar.
Day 9 (Tuesday)
Depart Jodhpur for Udaipur, where an evening city tour is arranged to visit the City Palace and Jagdish Temple. Overnight at the Shikarbadi Hotel or similar.
Day 10 (Wednesday)
Breakfast followed by transfer to Udaipur Airport for return flight to Goa via Mumbai.
Tour price includes:
- 10 days and 9 nights.
- Hotel on bed and breakfast basis, in twin bedded room.
- Flights and all ground transportation by air conditioned car/coach as per itinerary.
- Monument fees, as per the prevailing rates.
- Local English-speaking guides.
Price does not include:
